Ramirez called up at last!
Strikers Alum Christian Ramirez has finally been called up to the USMNT!
It's been a long time coming for the 26-year-old Southern California native, who has had to work his way through the USL and NASL to finally land his dream of reaching the MLS.
“I am truly humbled to be called up. This is fulfilling a lifelong dream and an opportunity that I never thought would be possible. I’m motivated to fully take the opportunity that’s in front of me and give it everything I have. I want to thank God, my wife, family, friends, and teammates for all of their support and belief in me over the years.” Ramirez told MNUFC.com.

Christian Ramirez has been scoring more goals than most any American striker on earth over the past 4 years. He is JUST NOW getting his 1st USMNT call-up, at AGE 26. To a January camp.
And Jona Gonzalez might make El Tri's World Cup squad, at AGE 19.
Ramirez finished his debut MLS season with 14 goals in 30 appearances. Ramirez is Minnesota’s all-time leading scorer across NASL and MLS competition. He has featured in 125 matches for the club across both leagues and now has a chance to let his scoring prowess shine at the international level for the United States. He is one of 30 players selected by Sarachan and will report to camp on Wednesday, January 10.
